About Us

Welcome to the East of Scotland Physical and Interlectual Adaptrive Judo Group (ESSN)

Essn was started in 2005. Janice Graham and Jo Imrie were approched by a member of  staff from Judo Scotland to  establish a SN  Judo Group.

ESSN is a monthly support group for Judo Clubs within the Edinburgh and Lothians area. They are there to give that extra bit of help to allow progrssion that is some times difficult to achieve within  the players regular club session. The ESSN support group also provides a taliored competition schedule that a mainstream club may find difficult to put together.

Both Jo and Janice have their own Judo Clubs and coach the ESSN Judo Group voluntary.

ESSN was started with one player and two Judo coaches. Now  a few years down the line we are extremely proud to say we now have an impressive number base and are going from strenght to strenght.

ESSN also hold an annual Judo Competition which is attended by players from all over Britian and Northern Ireland.

It should also be noted that many of the players attend the group just for fun.

ESSN is probably one of the strongest Adaptive Judo Groups within the UK and are very proud of everything that the group has achieved.
